Good morning and Happy Friday. Blog post #2 ... Usually I'm struggling to get out the door each day for work but today I'm ready and have fifteen minutes before I need to leave. Isn't God amazing? He always makes a way.
"My faith shall be my eyes ... " is a verse in the song "I Will Rise" by Chris Tomlin. Great song. Great CD. That verse has stayed with me over the months ... think about it. My faith shall be my eyes. How many of us can say that is true? We want it to be true but so many times we allow our circumstances to determine our faith. God says look to ME. Have faith in ME. I will get you through no matter what you see with your natural eyes ... We must look through our eyes of faith. Trusting God NO MATTER WHAT!!!
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our EYES not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." Let's do that today. Let's practice seeing with eyes of faith. When the enemy tries to distract you, say NO. I'm going to see things God's way today. Let's also have an eternal perspective. Our troubles are light and momentary when we think of eternity.
Hebrews 12:2 - "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." That is how our faith shall be our eyes. When we keep our eyes firmly fixed on JESUS.
I hope your Friday is extra special. Remember you are the apple of HIS eye. :)

Why blogging?
Hi! Welcome to "Remembering to Breathe ..." Why that name? Sometimes life can be so overwhelming that we need to take a break and just breathe. A little bit about me. I'm a wife and mother, full time employee, involved in church, etc. Life is busy (sometimes too busy). In the midst of those busy times I remember advice that was given to me years ago ... to just breathe. I know that can be hard when you are trying to meet a deadline, (I can tell this is going to be hard. I'm wanting to go back and edit what I've typed so far.) you don't think you have a minute to spare or you just don't know what to do next. Sometimes we need to step back and ask God if we are on the right track or to just give us a moment of peace. We need to just breathe. God is always available to His children. Know that you are precious to Him.
Back to the title of this post ... Why blogging? I don't know. I watched a movie a few weeks ago and the main character started a blog. I thought about it briefly and then the other day the idea to start my own blog rose in my spirit. God placed a friend in my path that showed me how to set up a blog and here we are. I think God has plans for this ... Not sure what but I'm trying to follow His lead.
In the days ahead if you see a typo or I seem to be rambling, I probably will be. I'm going to try my best and not edit every line or examine every word I use. My main objective is to encourage and remind you that God is on your side. To remind you how precious you are ... to God and to others.
Just know it is my heart's desire to serve God wholeheartedly. I'm not sure exactly how a blog works but I think you can post comments. Feel free to share. I'm going to close for now. I'll see you soon. Keep your eyes on the prize (JESUS).
